The term hispanic bugs me. I asked around it’s it (similar) to the term African-American for Black people. You know what I mean? It’s an ethnic marker that the government (white people) make up….

CC: My Hispanic family members and friends don’t seem to mind it so I apologize for not knowing. What’s better though? Latin@?

I’m Domincan American. I don’t mind being referred to as Hispanic or Latina. But everyone’s different. I see nothing wrong with the term Hispanic.
